Training plans are available exclusively to club members, with some being customisable.
From Sprint to Ironman, choose your distance and time available, then read the guidance included with each plan.
The longer the plan, the better prepared you will be for race day.
If you need any help with using the plans, speak to coach coordinator Ross Wearing or any other club coach.
The main club coaching plan is based around a one-year macrocycle - the plan helps ensure that all coached sessions integrate with each other, and work towards the club championship races. The plan also helps us structure club seminars and targeted training sessions, to make sure that we put support in where it is needed within the season.
The main coached swim session takes place every Tuesday night at Rugby School Sports Centre swimming pool, from 7.00pm to 8.00pm (meeting from 6.45pm to be changed and ready to start on time).
Member fee for this session is £4. If you can swim 50m in any stroke style you may have a free 'taster' session. After that you will be able to attend 3 further consecutive weeks but pay a fee of £6 per session. If you attend any further weeks, you will be charged a fee of £10 per session until you join the Club.
Cycle sessions are organised on an informal basis, often on Sundays starting at 8am from Rugby School Sports Centre.
During the Winter months spin sessions are organised. Normally starting in January and running through to the end of March. Venues vary each year. Members receive notification of the details.
There are two coached run sessions each week.
The Monday session takes place at the athletics track at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre, Rugby. The session runs from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. This track session will cost members £2 and non-members £5. If you would like to attend a taster session (at a cost of £2) please come along.
The Thursday road-based session starts at 7.00pm from the Rugby School Sports Centre and lasts one hour.
A number of other run sessions happen throughout the year - see the club Facebook page for updated information.
Seminars and workshops, to help you develop and race more effectively, are arranged throughout the year.
These seminars are free to club members only, covering a wide range of essential topics as you head towards the race season.
Each session is led by a qualified club coach, including both theory and practical elements. These sessions often take place in the teaching room at Rugby School swimming pool, or at other locations around Rugby.
